Get lost in Mintaro Maze, South Australia

From the air it doesn't look that difficult but from ground level when confronted with a continuous wall of green it's another story.

The maze was designed & constructed by Michael Morris and family in 1995 on land that was used to impound bullock teams back in the 1880's travelling between Burra and Port Wakefield (which might explain why the hedge grows so well - all those extra nutrients!).

After 5 years of establishment the maze now grows without needing to be watered and is trimmed extensively twice every year which takes about 50 hours per time.

Situated just 20km out of Clare or about 1.5 hours drive north of Adelaide, Mintaro Maze is well worth a visit and an opportunity to get the kids out running around.
