What's in my Road Trip Tool Kit?

Last week I was out at my mate Terry's place (Mr Mods) helping him replace all the wheel bearings in my 80 Series Landcruiser.

Having spent 3 days on the side of an outback Queensland track with a collapsed wheel bearing once before (click here to watch the video), these days I like to replace them BEFORE they break.

Terry and I were discussing what goes into a good road trip tool kit and we ended up getting out my Ultimate Road Trip Packing List which has a section devoted to 'Tools'.

It turns out that Terry had a few suggestions of things that could or should be on the list so I took the opportunity to update the list.

I've also made a PDF which you can download below which is the list of tools that Terry and I agree should be in your Road Trip Tool Kit.

You can grab the PDF below by right clicking and select 'Save Linked file'.

    Steve,
Not sure about the 12 Volt impact wrench, I would call that nice to have. The one thing I would say is essential with a 4x4 tool kit is a breaker bar. Then thinking about that may be a torque wrench too.

Cheers Michael, yes the 12 volt impact wrench is in the luxury category and not essential as long as you have a decent wheel brace. Breaker bar and torque wrench are good ideas - will add them to the next update.
