We finally made it to Broome, the first place in a very long time that either of us had been to before. The first time we were here was when Jameson was 4 months old and we stayed at the Cable Beach Club resort, this time no such luxury - the Cable Beach caravan park right behind the resort was not quite the same! In saying that it was a great place to stay and seemed to be a spot where a number

When we last wrote I was not sure if our van would be ready for us, luckily it was so we did have our home back although still without all of the problems solved! It is still very hot in Darwin and this time we are in a park near the airport and no such thing as a flight curfew here so sleep is somewhat disjointed with heat and plane noise! While back in Darwin we managed another trip to Mindil

We were dreading our flight back to Sydney on Jetstar however we had a very pleasant surprise, my cousin Carmel whom I hadn’t seen for 20 or so years was the Customer Service Manager on our flight. It was great to catch up with her and even better that she took the children off our hands for some of the flight and provided us with a number of goodies that made the flight very enjoyable. Both

Arrived in the Northern Territory 11th August The first and only thing we came to in the NT was the Barkly Homestead, a refuge for weary travellers making the very long drive from Mt Isa, very straight roads with very little to see, any bend was reason for excitement!Once we hit the Stuart Highway we turned left and headed South to the Devil’s Marbles with a brief stop at Tennant Creek. The Devil

We continue our westward journey along the Savannah way taking a side detour to Cobbold Gorge and for the first time we really are starting to get away from it with very little between one attraction or another and very long distances, the towns become smaller, significantly less choice and at a premium price. On the way we had planned to turnoff at Mt Surprise and head via another Gorge only to

From Cairns we made our way north and planned to stay at Port Douglas but the Inn was full, the Grey Nomads are in full swing, we now need to look for places without power! Had to find accommodation at Mossman (note the two s’s not one) very small site and expensive for what it was, but who can blame them to make hay while the sun shines! On the way stopped at Mossman Gorge our first real

Last time we wrote we were off to Hamilton Island and Whitehaven beach for the day, which was great even better that the 4 of us got to go for the price of 1 so even if it was crap still good value for money! The day was great and included 2 ½ hrs driving around in a golf buggy on Hamilton and a couple of hours on Whitehaven Beach, pure bliss even with children. On the way home Jameson struck up

Weeks 4 to 8 I may as well start as I did for our only other update and apologise for the lack of communication, yet another 4 weeks has passed us by. I’m also very happy to say that we well and truly seem to have left the rain behind us with sunny days for all but a couple of days and very little rain to mention at all. Day time temps in the mid 20’s which I’m sure all of you

Well we are 4 weeks into our trip without a single update! It is amazing how time just disappears! A late night is 9.30pm now! My resolution is to try and update our Blog on a weekly basis, I know that isn’t really a commitment and that is pretty much as we are trying to live our life through our journey. Although we have been on the road for 4 weeks we have managed to stay with friends and
