Q: Why share my adventure?
A: There are many reasons . . . help others who follow in your footsteps with tips on places to go (and not go!), things to do etc. . . . invite other people to email you with their tips which will improve your experience . . . keep your friends and family up to date . . . open yourself up to ideas and possibilities you may not have even thought of.
Q: What sort of adventures can be included?
A: There are no restrictions. It can be a 10 day hike or a 2 year trip around Australia. Adventure is however you define it.
Q: Does my adventure need to be in Australia?
A: No. If you are an Australian traveling overseas that's okay. Anyone (Australian or not) can share an adventure that is in Australia.
Q: What am I sharing?
A: You can provide an overview of your expedition on your Home Page, keep a Blog (on-line diary) and upload your digital photos into your Photo Album. People can also "subscribe" to automatically receive an email update from the site when you add an entry to your Blog.
Q: I'm not a programmer, how do I update my Expedition Website?
A: With some basic information from you, we will setup your site to start with. You can then update your Blog AND your Photo Album by email. You simply send an email to a special email address we give you and they automatically update. You can update your Home Page at any time using a simple on-line word processor (Google Docs) which you can access from any Internet connected computer.
Q: How often should I/can I update my site?
A: As often as you like - it's your adventure!
Q: What costs are involved?
A: The only cost involved is a once off $97 setup cost for us to establish your site *HOWEVER FOR A LIMITED TIME WE ARE WAIVING THIS SETUP COST so there is absolutely nothing to pay.
Q: Will people be able to contact me through my site?
A: Yes. We will provide a contact form on your Expedition Site where visitors can email you. Your email address is not made public so it won't be picked up by spam robots.
Q: Will my Expedition Site remain on the site after our expedition is finished.
A: For the benefit of our members doing research we plan to leave your Expedition Site "up" indefinitely. Read our Terms & Conditions for more details about this.
Q: Can I keep my email address private?
A: Yes, you can keep your current email private. We will supply you with a special Expedition Australia email address for your expedition.
