Our Trip
Our trip, most importantly involves a lifestyle change. An opportunity to do something wonderfully unpredictable and adventurous for an undetermined period of time. Simple really.....
We plan to travel around the country anti-clockwise heading north first towards Cape York.
The Crew
Max & Faith
Late 2007 after the birth of our second child, we decided we wanted to take to the open road, and show our kids the adventures that Australia has to offer. We sold our home of ten years in Lethbridge,Victoria, just outside of Geelong (an hour from Melbourne), most of our other assets and started planning our new lifestyle. Max (33) is a manager and Faith(33) is a photographer.
Jake Jake is 3 and the elder of our troops. He loves dogs (most of all his beloved Scout who we have to leave behind in Vic, trucks, chocolate milkshakes and icecream.) Jake loves a good chatter, so there will be many traumatic hours in the car no doubt!
Ella
Ella is 16 months old and is the lungs of the family. Capable, determined and loves riding her electric 4W motorbike, eating crayons and patting animals. She also has a preoccupation with gumboots at present........???
The Rig
Originally our idea was to modify a 2008 Ford Ranger as we already had one, but after much contemplation and number crunching, we decided on a 1998 100 Series Landcruiser turbo deisel. Our car had already had a headstart as far as the setup goes, so with the addition of a few things including new Mickey Thompson tyres, roof rack and Tough Dog suspension it bought us pretty close to having a suitable car for our travels.

The Camper
We always knew that an off-road camper trailer was going to be our best option, and so began the many, many hours of research into what was the best camper trailer for us. After looking at everything from second hand trailers to the top of the line Kimberley Campers, we realised many were too small for our new family or some second hand units just didn't have the ins and outs that we required. Design was a huge factor, with ease of use and access, high up on our list. A trailer capable of holding a fully self contained kitchen, plus giving wardrobe/clothes access while packed up was important. Also we wanted to put our 60litre ENGEL Fridge/Freezer combo into our camper trailer instead of carrying it in our car.
BULLOAK camper trailers in Geelong were just what we were looking for. We wanted someone capable of custom building a camper trailer for our specific requirements, and allow us to utilise the camper well into the future.
